The Logitech G Cloud is one of the oldest gaming handhelds around that has not been replaced by a successor of some kind. Presented months after the Steam Deck, the G Cloud divided opinion upon release. As Russ from Retro Game Corps summarised last year, the G Cloud is a solid device let down by comparatively high pricing (curr. $299.99 on Amazon).
Nonetheless, it seems that Logitech is planning to release a purely cosmetic refresh later this year. To recap, a version of the G Cloud emerged almost a year ago with a black shell offset by yellow accents. While that version is seemingly no longer sold in China, Logitech gave away a G Cloud Black Edition last month flashed with North American software.
According to Evan Blass, this giveaway actually precedes a 'wider release' for this variant. Writing on X, the reliable leaker asserts that Logitech 'is poised' to offer this version outside of China. Unfortunately, Blass has not shared any specifics in this regard. Nonetheless, we suspect that the leaker has seen evidence that this is on the verge of occurring later this year.
