Gaming monitors built around LG Display's vaunted 4th Gen Primary Tandem OLED panel technology are starting to trickle out. To recap, LG released the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A last week in China and Hong Kong after previewing it a month earlier. Not to be confused with the recent UltraGear OLED 27GX790A (curr. $749.99 on Amazon), the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A retails for CNY 4,599 (~$640) in China.
Now, Gigabyte has moved to undercut LG with the MO27Q28G, which it previewed during Computex 2025 alongside a host of other gaming monitors. Specifically, Gigabyte has started selling the MO27Q28G for CNY 2,899 (~$404) in China for a 37% discount on the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A. For that price, Gigabyte has included the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-B
- 1x USB Type-C (DisplayPort Alt/18 W Power Delivery)
In other words, the MO27Q28G and UltraGear OLED 27GX700A feature comparable ports despite the gulf in price between the pair. Moreover, the MO27Q28G is said to offer 335 nits SDR and 1,500 nits HDR peak brightnesses just like the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A with a 1440p native resolution and a 280 Hz refresh rate. On top of that, Gigabyte's alternative also boasts AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync VRR technologies with 0.03 ms GtG response times. Currently, Gigabyte is expected to release the MO27Q28G in the US before the end of the month for approximately $499.
