Almost a fortnight has passed since LG released the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A backed by one of its new 4th Gen WOLED panels. Built around Primary RGB Tandem technology, this new 27-inch panel is not as fast as the 540 Hz WOLED panel that has debuted inside the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W. Likewise, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A peaks at a lower refresh rate than new QD-OLED alternatives like the Samsung Odyssey OLED G60SF (curr. $999.99 on Amazon).
With that being said, the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A is considerably brighter than at least its QD-OLED backed rivals. Specifically, LG's Primary RGB Tandem technology allows the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A to deliver 335 nits SDR and 1,500 nits peak brightnesses. Initially, LG's new monitor had only reached China and Hong Kong, with Chinese pricing set at CNY 4,599 (~$640).
However, LG has been spotted listing the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A on Amazon US. While the monitor is temporarily out of stock at the time of writing, keen-eyed Redditors grabbed a screenshot showing $849.99 pricing while the monitor was still available. Likewise, price comparison tools confirm that Amazon US sold the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A for that price between August 12 and August 20.
In other words, we suspect that a full global launch is on the cards soon. Although LG has not confirmed as much yet, Gigabyte has indicated that its alternative will cost significantly less than the UltraGear OLED 27GX700A in the US. The company has revealed a full global launch date too, unlike LG.
