The curved LG monitor on sale at Amazon doesn’t force compromises when used as a smart TV. Buyers will also appreciate the 39-inch OLED gaming monitor for its low latency at high refresh rates. This WQHD widescreen display is now available at its lowest price yet on Amazon.

OLED gaming monitors have become more versatile, but most models can’t double as a smart TV. The 39-inch UltraGear curved monitor from LG addresses that shortcoming with webOS compatibility. Those features don’t impact its gaming prowess, thanks to a 240Hz refresh rate and G-Sync support. The LG 39GX90SA is an immersive WQHD display that’s seeing its steepest discount yet.

Buyers can purchase the LG OLED monitor for $899, with a $700 discount resulting in an all-time low Amazon price.

Smart monitors often struggle to transition to desktop TVs. This curved monitor has some quirks when switching inputs that can be frustrating for owners. Still, an included remote control removes some of he hassle of navigating its on-screen menus. The ability to access popular streaming apps in PC setups, like Netflix and Hulu, also counters any minor annoyances.

With a dramatic 800R curvature, the LG 39GX90SA will also immerse viewers like few smart TVs can. At the 39-inch form factor, productivity also gets a boost with the ability to divide the screen into six quadrants.

While not 4K resolution, more GPUs will be able to produce detailed visuals on the 21:9 OLED monitor at 3440 x 1440. Its maximum 240Hz refresh rate also becomes realistic for competitive gamers. Another advantage of the smart monitor is that owners without sufficient PCs or consoles can rely on cloud gaming apps.

How the LG 39GX90SA compares to conventional gaming monitors

The PC Gamer review of the LG UltraGear display revealed typical results for a WOLED panel. Its picture is not quite as vibrant as QD-OLED alternatives from competitors like Samsung. Even so, thanks to a high contrast ratio, no fine detail is lost in darker games and movies. HDR brightness is also ordinary, but nevertheless enhances images, unlike many IPS gaming monitors.

The 39GX90SA OLED monitor aims to downsize setups that require multiple screens or a smart TV. A slightly clunky UI and underwhelming speakers somewhat diminish its value. Still, the display largely succeeds, bolstered by multiple HDMI 2.1 ports and USB-C connectivity with power delivery.

It’s unclear how long the $899.99 Amazon sale price will last. Buyers hoping to simplify their desktops may jump at the chance to reserve the 2025 version of the LG monitor.
