LG Display has officially revealed more information about its first 540 Hz and 27-inch WOLED panel. For context, the company teased the same panel a few months ago. While full details remain unknown at this stage, Gigabyte and SDC have already indicated that they are some of the first manufacturers to integrate the panel into forthcoming gaming monitors.
Showcased during K-Display 2025 at COEX in Seoul alongside the 5K2K panel inside the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A (curr. $1,996 on Amazon), LG Display reiterates that the panel is from its 4th OLED generation packing Primary RGB Tandem technology. As a result, the 540 Hz panel delivers 1,500 nits peak brightness that jumps to 4,000 nits with HDR mode activated. While LG Display has not confirmed as much yet, 4,000 nits will likely only apply across 3% of the panel at any one time (3% APL).
Moreover, the panel will match previous WOLED panels with 99.5% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. On top of that, LG Display has finally confirmed that its upcoming 27-inch panel achieves its 540 Hz refresh rate at a 1440p native resolution. Alternatively, the panel can use LG's Dual Mode technology to boost its refresh rate to 720 Hz by reducing its resolution to 720p. It remains to be seen when this new 4th Gen 27-inch WOLED panel will begin shipping in retail gaming monitors yet, though.
