Earlier this year, LG released two 45-inch OLED gaming monitors with similar names. Both part of the GX9 series, the 45GX90SA and 45GX950A differ in crucial areas. For instance, while the former offers native game streaming via webOS 24, the latter is the first monitor with a 5K2K Gen 3 WOLED panel.
Now, LG has quietly released the third 45-inch OLED gaming monitor under the GX9 series. Specifically, the company has started selling the UltraGear OLED 45GX900A, which we can find on LG's Hong Kong and US websites at the time of writing for HK$12,980 (~$1,654) and $1,699, respectively. Meanwhile, Amazon Canada has priced the same monitor at CA$1,799 (~$1,308).
For those prices, LG includes the Gen 2 WOLED panel found in the older UltraGear OLED 45GS95QE with a 1440p resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate. Thus, the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A (curr. $1,996 on Amazon) remains the better option for those who want a higher resolution ultra-wide gaming experience. Still, the UltraGear OLED 45GX900A features a USB Type-C port that provides 65 W charging and stereo 7 W speakers that the UltraGear OLED 45GS95QE lacks. Please see LG's website for more details.
