For the UltraWide 49U950A-W, LG opted for a 49-inch IPS panel with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 3800R curve, which is significantly less curved than many competitors. The panel also offers a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels, a refresh rate of 144Hz, and a brightness of 400 nits. It can display 98% of the DCI-P3 color space.
While these specs also make the monitor suitable for gaming, the ultrawide format of the 49U950A-W is ideal for office use, as it allows users to work with multiple apps side by side. A KVM switch is built-in, so the mouse, keyboard and other connected accessories automatically switch to the respective computer or source device.
Computers or laptops can be hooked up via two HDMI ports, DisplayPort or USB-C, the latter of which allows notebooks to be charged with up to 90 watts. The integrated USB hub provides two additional USB-A ports. LG’s new 5K monitor further comes with a height-adjustable stand. The display has built-in stereo speakers with an output of 2 x 10 watts, and the brightness can be automatically adjusted by an ambient light sensor.
