Xiaomi launches Mijia Monitor Light Bar 2 with wireless remote and 108 LEDs

We have already reported several times on special monitor-mounted lighting solutions, including a BenQ model we previously tested that is still available on Amazon. Xiaomi also offers similar lights and has now introduced a new model: the Xiaomi Mijia Monitor Light Bar 2. It will go on sale on July 15 as part of a Xiaomi YouPin campaign, priced at the equivalent of around $39. As it is launching via crowdfunding in China, it is not yet available in Western markets, and there is currently no information regarding a global release.
The light bar is 50 centimeters long and features an asymmetrical design. This directs the illumination downward rather than toward the user, helping to significantly reduce screen glare. Xiaomi notes that the lamp effectively illuminates an area of 1.2 by 0.6 meters using 108 individual LEDs.
The color temperature can be adjusted from 2,700 to 6,500 Kelvin. When set to 3,900 Kelvin, the light output reaches 500 lumens with a color rendering index of Ra96, keeping color distortion to a minimum. A dedicated remote control is included in the package. According to Xiaomi, the light bar is compatible with curved monitors and fits displays between 5 and 65 millimeters thick.
