Logitech has expanded its sim racing offerings with the G RS50 wheelbase, a new wheel hub, and the RS pedal system. These fit between the entry level G923/G920 Trueforce racing systems and the premium Pro DD11 system. The RS50 is a direct drive wheelbase with Trueforce feedback and offers significantly more peak torque than the entry-level offerings. It is also compatible with PC, Xbox, and PS platforms.
Logitech G RS50 wheelbase, RS Pedals features and specifications
Starting with the RS50 wheelbase, it packs up to 8 nm of peak torque. Logitech’s Trueforce technology is present here as well and it translates in-game physics into real-world forces for a realistic driving experience. The wheelbase has 2,700 degrees of rotation and can be used on a desk with a clamp or in a sim rig with four T-nuts-and-bolts included in the package. It is compatible with all RS and Pro series accessories with support for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC (Xbox/PC and PS/PC versions).
Along with the wheelbase comes the RS wheel hub that has a Xbox/PC and a PS/PC version. The wheel hub works with the RS or MOMO × Logitech G steering wheels and has a quick connect mechanism to attach to the RS50 wheelbase. It has ample front facing buttons, a single joystick, and two adjustable dials, as well as RGB rev lights that can be customized through the G Hub software.
Coming to the RS pedals, the standard set includes a throttle and a brake pedal. The throttle uses a Hall effect sensor to measure distance while the brake has a load cell setup that measures pressure. The 75 kg load cell brake has adjustable positioning and can be tuned via G HUB. The base allows for moving the pedals closer or further apart and there is room for the RS clutch pedal (sold separately) as well.
Price and availability
There are different combinations of this sim racing gear. Just the RS50 wheelbase (PC) is priced at $350 and the PlayStation compatible version costs $450. The RS50 system which includes the wheelbase, the wheel hub, and the rim, is priced at $700 for both versions. The RS pedals are priced at $160 and the RS clutch module is priced at $45. The wheelbase and RS50 system are available for purchase via the official website but only the RS50 System is available via Amazon, at the time of writing. The pedals, however, will arrive later, sometime in Q4 this year.
