It is no secret that Logitech is preparing to replace the MX Master 3 and MX Master 3S (curr. $99.99 on Amazon) with its first fourth-generation model. To recap, initial evidence that an MX Master 4 was in development emerged in June. While Logitech were quick to remove its MX Master 4 from Instagram, high-resolution alternatives were then published a few weeks later by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Now, Logitech has returned to teasing the MX Master 4 before its official release. As Caschys Blog observed, the company mentioned 'models like the Logitech MX master 4' in relation to choosing the most appropriate wireless mouse for financial analysts before removing the description from its website. Apparently, the MX Master 4 supports 'even the most intricate financial tasks', although Logitech has not elaborated on this yet.
For the time being, it is unclear whether Logitech has included a newer sensor than the 8,000 DPI sensor found in the MX Master 3S. Likewise, there have been no suggestions that the MX Master 4 will surpass its predecessor's 125 Hz polling rate. The images that have appeared so far show changes like a repositioned scroll wheel and a reworked customisable thumb button, though.
Moreover, the MX Master 4 has three side-mounted buttons rather than the two found on the MX Master 3S. Although launch details have not been announced yet, we suspect that the MX Master 4 is not far from release, given its reappearance in official materials.
