Logitech MX Master 3 mouse, MX Keys have been tailor made for Apple Mac users
A lot of accessory makers avoid making products that directly compete with Apple’s own accessories for its Mac and iPad products, however, Logitech continues to serve up compelling alternatives that have enticed a strong following. Its new MX Keys keyboard and MX Master 3 continue in this tradition but are even more tailored than ever. Not only do they come in matching Space Gray, the most popular color in Apple’s range of Macs, they also offer features not found in Apple’s own Mac accessories.
The MX Keys, for example, integrates backlit lighting which is something you won’t find on Apple’s wireless Magic Keyboard accessories for Mac. They also feature a low-profile keyboard, but one with scalloped keys which should make for more precise and accurate typing than Apple’s low-profile Magic keyboard keys. You can also quickly switch between a Mac, an iPad and even a Windows machine which will suit those who prefer a Mac at home but have to use a PC for work.
The MX Master 3 builds on the general ergonomics and features that make the series popular with PC users. This time around, however, it brings a new MagSpeed electromagnetic scroll wheel to the party. It can scroll through 1,000 lines in as fast a second or be used far more precisely. It is also ‘virtually silent’ according to Logitech. Each of its buttons, scroll wheel and thumbwheel have also been given predefined customizations to work out of the box with popular Mac apps including Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Google Chrome, Safari and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Both the MX Keys and MX Master 3 are retailing for US$99 each and start shipping this month.
