Logitech MX Keys Mini leaks: A smaller option for those who do not need a number pad
Logitech has been selling the MX Keys for a while, first with Windows/Mac keys and then as a dedicated Mac keyboard. Now, Caschys Blog has discovered that Logitech plans to release the MX Keys Mini, a version without a number pad. Logitech has announced anything yet, but retailers have already started listing it.
The MX Keys Mini is, as its name suggests, a more compact version of the MX Keys. The keyboard is a mini version of the Windows/Mac model for reference, instead of an option for just Mac users. Accordingly, the MX Keys Mini has a USB Type-C port for charging and backlit keys that it can switch on automatically.
If that is not your thing, then you can cycle brightness levels with the F4 and F5 keys. Logitech has also included shortcut keys across the function row, as the images below show. Unsurprisingly, there are media control shortcuts, along with options for taking a screenshot and muting your microphone, among others.
Logitech has made some compromises in creating the MX Key Mini, though. For one, the pairing keys now sit within F1-F3, which Logitech assigned to shortcut keys on the MX Keys. Additionally, the escape button is smaller, as are the arrow keys and space bar. Unfortunately, it is unclear how much the MX Key Mini will cost, nor when it will become available.
