Logitech has rolled out its latest mechanical gaming keyboards targeted at everyone from esports pros through to demanding casual gamers. The new G915 Lightspeed Wireless and G815 Lightsync are both high-end gaming keyboards fitted with Logitech’s low-profile GL Switches in thin aluminum cases, rather than the more typical plastic types. Logitech says that its switches are half the height of standard mechanical switches that also makes them 25 percent faster to actuate.
The G915 variant uses Logitech’s proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless Lightspeed technology but it will require a dongle for connectivity. However, it also supports Bluetooth which gives users the flexibility to choose the wireless technology they prefer. With wireless functionality enabled battery life is rated at up to 12 days with lighting at full brightness with up to 8 hours of use per day. With RGB lightning switched off, you can expect up to 135 days of wireless use between charges.
The G815 features a virtually identical design but swaps out the wireless tech for a wired connection. Like the G915 it uses the same GL Switches which come in three different levels of tactile feel for even greater levels of comfort and feel. Logitech calls these GL Clicky (for audible click and tactile feedback), GL Tactile (a gentle bump for some tactile feedback) and GL Linear (for completely smooth keystrokes). Combined with Logitech’s Lightsync tech, gamers can enjoy RGB lighting that synchronizes with onscreen gaming and entertainment content.
The Logitech G915 is retailing now for US$250 while the G815 is retailing for US$200.
