Frustrating many buyers, Gamescom 2025 hasn’t clarified the Asus ROG Xbox Ally or ROG Xbox Ally X price. Facing uncertain economic conditions, Microsoft and Asus have yet to confirm the costs of the handheld gaming PCs. However, well-known leaker billbil-kun now knows when pre-orders are set to begin. Dealabs Magazine also disclosed the existence of the unannounced Raikiri II Pro Xbox controller.
Despite the October 16th ROG Xbox Ally release date approaching, the price of the handhelds remains in flux. Billbil-kun explains that an announcement was expected on August 20th during Gamescom. Now, buyers must wait until September 25th. Yet, with the unpredictable launch of the devices, the leaker suggests plans could change again.
Retailers are also caught up in the confusion, which the Dealabs article addresses. At one time, the communicated Asus ROG Xbox Ally price was $499.99, but it later rose to $599.99. Then, Best Buy briefly posted updated numbers of $549.99, with the ROG Xbox Ally X price still at $899. Meanwhile, the anticipated EU prices have stayed at €599/€899. Considering tariffs have contributed to pricier PS5 and Switch consoles, it’s anyone's guess as to the final figures.
Asus also shared details about the ROG Raikiri II Xbox controller. The accessory boasts drift-resistant TMR thumbsticks and works with the new handheld gaming PCs. Addressing a drawback of its corded predecessor, it wirelessly pairs with the Xbox Series X|S and Bluetooth devices.
According to billbil-kun, the manufacturer may soon showcase the more advanced Raikiri II Pro. Exact specs are unknown, but the controller should cost $189.99. For reference, the previous-gen Raikiri Pro had additional rear buttons and an OLED screen.
