Earlier today, leaked US pricing emerged concerning Asus and Microsoft's upcoming ROG Xbox Ally gaming handhelds. Ultimately, leaker bilbil-kun did not provide a source for their findings. Officially, neither Asus nor Microsoft are willing to reveal launch prices for the ROG Xbox Ally or ROG Xbox Ally X yet. Instead, Microsoft's Vice President of Xbox Gaming Devices & Ecosystem gave the following statement to IGN:
This is always a challenge...and you always try to find the right balance between affordability and price point, and I think especially in a mobile form factor that also adds in dimensions such as battery life in as well. And then, as you said, the macro-economic climate is challenging. I think we will have to... we need more time to figure the macro-economic impact to pricing, and that's why we'll be sharing more later, in September and October.
Nonetheless, popular X account Wario64 observed that Best Buy had revealed launch prices for both gaming handhelds ahead of schedule. While now removed by the retailer, the prices matched bilbil-kun's claims that Asus had priced the ROG Xbox Ally at $549.99 and the ROG Xbox Ally X at $899.99 with Ryzen Z2 A and Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, respectively. In other words, the entry-level ROG Xbox Ally will be significantly less powerful the the Ryzen Z2 Go-powered Lenovo Legion Go S (curr. $649.99 on Amazon).
Meanwhile, both Best Buy and Microsoft have confirmed that the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will arrive on October 16. On top of that, the latter has revealed that the ROG Xbox Ally will not be available in China until early 2026; Brazil, India, Indonesia and Thailand will receive the two gaming handhelds at different times too.
