Best Buy leaks Asus ROG Xbox Ally X price again, and it's still cheaper than Lenovo Legion Go 2

Gamescom 2025 passed without Microsoft settling on an Asus ROG Xbox Ally or ROG Xbox Ally X price. Delayed due to uncertain economic conditions, Xbox left buyers in the dark ahead of their October 16th release date. However, YouTuber Destin has learned that the ROG Xbox Ally X will cost $899.99, while the Xbox Ally will be $549.99.

The pricing aligns with a previous Best Buy leak after the retailer briefly posted updated product pages. Destin obtained the information from an anonymous source before a local Best Buy location confirmed the prices. His latest video includes footage from an in-store display. The demos may suggest that Microsoft and Asus are close to an official announcement.

For Europeans considering the new handheld gaming PCs, preliminary costs of €899/€599 surfaced in July. Still, the manufacturer may make revisions before the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X release dates.

Gamers had wondered if Microsoft might raise prices to counter the effects of tariffs, as seen with numerous consoles. Conversely, a reduction would make handheld gaming PCs more appealing to a broader audience. It seems that after careful consideration, Microsoft decided to stand pat.

How the value of the Lenovo Legion Go 2 compares

With a larger 8.8-inch screen, the recently announced Lenovo Legion Go 2 will cost significantly more. A lower-end model asks $1,099.99, with a Ryzen Z2 Extreme version priced at $1,349.99. Still, the cheaper option should offer comparable performance to the Xbox Ally X.
