The Legion Go 2 has been a long time coming. Initially shown in prototype form during CES 2025 alongside the Legion Go S (curr. $649 on Amazon), Lenovo has not officially commented on the whereabouts of the Legion Go 2 since. Instead, a Lenovo Latin America (LATM) customer representative indicated in late spring that the Legion Go 2 may launch sometime during September.
Apparently, that customer representative was not that far off after all. According to Evan Blass, Lenovo will include the Legion Go 2 in its IFA 2025 showcase. In other words, we should hear more about Lenovo's long-awaited gaming handheld in a week's time. For the time being, Lenovo has not confirmed as much. Nonetheless, Lenovo's IFA 2025 holding page indicates that it will be exhibiting new Legion and Legion Gaming products between September 5 and September 9 in Berlin.
In the meantime, Evan Blass has shared new images showing the Legion Go 2 from all sides. Embedded below, the images highlight that Lenovo's next high-end gaming handheld has six programmable buttons: two on the edge of its right-hand controller and two sets spread across the rear of both controllers.
Meanwhile, the first leaked promotional video confirms that the Legion Go 2 has a fingerprint scanner embedded within its power button, which missed the cut on the original Legion Go. On top of that, the video reiterates that the Legion Go 2 will feature AMD's Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU, upon which the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X is also based. Based on recent leaks, Lenovo at least prototyped a lesser Ryzen Z2-based variant as well.
