Asus has teased the launch of a new Xbox controller that is set to launch soon. The upcoming controller should also work for PCs and handhelds such as the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X.

It has been more than two years since Asus launched the ROG Raikiri and Raikiri Pro controllers for Xbox consoles and PCs. Now, the manufacturer has teased it has a new controller that it plans to launch at Gamescom 2025.

The announcement was made via a YouTube Shorts video, and it shows a few details of the upcoming controller. According to the video, the new ROG controller will have an Xbox button in the center confirming support for Xbox consoles.

However, it is not known whether it is a wired controller like the ROG Raikiri or a wireless controller like the Raikiri Pro. Even if it turns out to be a wireless controller, it may not support wireless connection to the Xbox like the Raikiri Pro which only connects to Xbox consoles via a USB cable.

Nevertheless, considering more third-party controllers including those from smaller brands such as the 8BitDo Ultimate 3-mode Controller - Rare 40th Anniversary Edition (available on Amazon for $89.99) and the GameSir G7 Pro Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Edition can connect to Xbox consoles wirelessly, then there's nothing stopping Asus from launching a wireless controller for Xbox.

The teaser video also shows the controller has an ROG logo that lights up when the controller is powered on. The controller is also shown to have an audio jack and four back buttons like the ROG Raikiri Pro.

Asus has revealed that the launch of the controller will happen at Gamescom 2025 which officially starts on August 20 and runs through to August 24. However, the manufacturer will have a press event on August 19 where it will unveil new products which should include the controller. In addition, Asus has announced that there will be an in-depth look at the ROG Xbox Ally on August 20.
