Xbox Game Pass Ultimate's 100th game addition for 2025 is exclusive to PC
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has added its 100th game in 2025 with the arrival of 9 Kings on the platform, marking 100 games added to Game Pass in 2025. The new game, 9 Kings, is a fast-paced roguelike kingdom-building auto-battler developed by Brazilian Indie studio Sad Socket and published by Hooded Horse.
For now, however, 9 Kings is available only on PC with no news on a potential Xbox release. It is available on both PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate via Game Preview.
Sad Socket, founded by Andre Young and Rafael Melo, is based in São Paulo and New York City. The studio released 9 Kings into early access on Steam on May 23, 2025, where it quickly garnered praise, achieving a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with a 92.94% user score out of 11,551 reviews.
The game sold more than 250,000 copies in the first week of launch and exceeded 400,000 sales in the first month, marking one of the biggest launches in Brazilian gaming history. The studio plans to keep the game in early access until around May 2026, after which the developers will port the game to consoles.
The addition of 9 Kings is part of Xbox Game Pass’s Wave 1 lineup, which was announced earlier on August 5, 2025. Alongside the roguelike city builder, members can also enjoy Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which arrived on August 7, Aliens: Fireteam Elite on August 12, and Rain World.
Wave 2 of Game Pass is expected to drop on August 19, featuring day-one releases like Herdling on August 21, and Gears of War: Reloaded on August 26 for PC and Xbox Series S|X.
Later in the year, Game Pass members will enjoy Frostpunk 2 for the Xbox Series S|X on September 18, Ball x Pitt on October 15, Keeper on October 17, Ninja Gaiden 4 on October 21, and The Outer Worlds 2 on October 29, all as day-one releases on PC, and Series S|X vis Game Pass PC and Game Pass Ultimate.
Unfortunately, three games have also left Xbox Game Pass as of August 15, including Persona 3 Reload, Anthem, and Farming Simulator 22. Xbox Game Pass continues to spruce up its catalog with over 100 additions already this year, including new titles like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, Mafia: The Old Country, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Grounded 2.
