Hyperkin's The Competitor is a wired Xbox controller that has a design inspired by the PS5's DualSense wireless controller. First announced at CES 2025, Hyperkin has now provided more details about its price and availability.
Hyperkin's The Competitor has a dual color finish like the DualSense wireless controller (available on Amazon for $74). Hyperkin will release the controller in White, Blue, Red, Black, and Gold; although IGN reports that some of these colors will be available in select regions only.
In addition to adapting a dual-color finish like the PlayStation 5's DualSense wireless controller, Hyperkin's new controller has symmetrical Hall Effect joysticks. The joysticks have metal glide rings, anti-friction gates, and the option to switch between dome and concave sticks.
Another similarity to the DualSense wireless controller is the separated D-pad which has a matching color with the ABXY buttons. The Competitor also has Hall Effect triggers, programmable back buttons with lock switches, an audio jack, and a microphone mute button.
Hyperkin has revealed that The Competitor will cost $49.99 at launch and will be available in October. Pre-orders will be open soon.
