Scuf Omega PS5 controller leaks with Envision Pro vibes and DualSense connectivity

While not the perfect solution, some PlayStation fans envied the deep customization offered by the Scuf Envision Pro. It appears that the manufacturer is bringing many of the same features to a new PS5 controller. The Scuf Omega leaked on Amazon before disappearing, suggesting an official reveal may be imminent.
A familiar layout
During the brief pre-order opportunity, gamers spotted a $219.99 price for the Scuf controller. Black, light gray, and white colorways are options for buyers. 11 remappable inputs and drift-resistant TMR thumbsticks headline the peripheral’s capabilities.
Fans will immediately notice that the Scuf Omega bears a strong resemblance to the Envision Pro. While its inspiration is PC-focused, Sony licensed this new wireless PS5 controller. As a result, it embraces some of the native DualSense features, including power management settings.
Another obvious difference from its desktop counterpart is that the Omega has a working touchpad. Otherwise, the 4 rear paddles, 2 side-mounted buttons, and 5 G-Keys are familiar additions. Instead of Corsair iCue, a mobile app customizes the ample number of commands. Ideally, players may have wished for tweaks through the console’s dashboard.
The Omega keeps console setups minimal
Without a USB dongle, the pro-level PS5 controller pairs via 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth connectivity to other sources. Latency should remain low, as the accessory supports a 1KHz polling rate, whether used wired or wirelessly. Omron mechanical switches found in the triggers, D-Pad, and action buttons further speed up inputs.
Geared toward esports, durable TMR thumbsticks are becoming more common than Hall effect alternatives. The Scuf controller gives owners a choice between concave and domed thumbstick covers. Further personalization is possible after detaching the magnetic faceplate.
Unfortunately, there is no mention of a vibration module, which may be disappointing at $219.99. That likely rules out some DualSense perks in the Scuf Omega, including haptic feedback. Still, these are typical compromises buyers must make with other third-party PS5 controllers like the Reflex.
