Anbernic RG G01 Controller gets a software update with new features

Shortly before the end of 2025, Anbernic announced a wireless controller with some unusual features. The controller, which is sold as the Anbernic RG G01, has a display and heart rate sensors, despite costing just $39.99. Anbernic has now released a new software update for the controller that adds some new features and fixes some bugs.
According to a video posted on its YouTube channel, the firmware update, which is version 1.41, has added a semi-automatic turbo (rapid fire) option. Previously, the controller only had support for full-auto mode which lets you assign a specific action to a button which is then activated by pressing and releasing the button. However, with the new semi-automatic mode, players will have to press and hold the button to activate the turbo function.
The update has also added a feature that lets users choose between a circular or square outer deadzone area for the triggers. The vibration intensity has also been optimized, thus allowing for more distinct vibration levels. Anbernic also says it has fixed some known bugs, but doesn't specify which ones.
The 2-minute long video also explains how users can update the firmware of the RG G01 controller. Judging from the video, you need a Windows PC to update the controller. To download the firmware, head to the source link below and click on “Other software” under “Firmware download resources”. Do note that the Google Drive link is broken, so use the second link. The instructions for updating the firmware are on the page, too.
