When the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro a.k.a. RedMagic Astra Tablet was announced in China in June, RedMagic also announced the Shadow Blade 3 Controller. Now that the RedMagic Astra Tablet is available globally, the Shadow Blade 3 Controller has followed suit but as the Shadow Blade Gamepad 3.
The Shadow Blade Gamepad 3 is a Bluetooth controller that is compatible with Android and iOS devices. It is also compatible with PC but has to be used with a 2.4GHz receiver or connected via a USB cable. The controller has a telescopic design which means it can be stretched to fit a variety of devices.
According to RedMagic, the Shadow Blade Gamepad 3 can be extended to 213mm so it can fit devices such as the iPad Mini, the RedMagic Astra Tablet (available on Amazon for $799), and the Redmi K Pad. The Shadow Blade Gamepad 3 has ergonomic rubberized grips made from a soft material and silicone pad clamping to prevent your phone or tablet from getting damaged. RedMagic ships the controller with three types of silicone pads, so users can swap them for the best fit.
The Shadow Blade Gamepad 3 controller has Hall Effect Joysticks, Hall Effect linear triggers, micro ABXY buttons, customizable RGB lights, six-axis gyroscope, 2 programmable shoulder buttons, and a linear motor that provides 5 levels of vibration. It also has a mechanical disc-style 8-directional D-Pad, a screenshot button, and quick volume adjustment. There's an 800mAh battery inside the controller but RedMagic doesn't say how many hours of gaming it will provide.
The RedMagic Shadow Blade Gamepad 3 is available to buy now for $129/€129 directly from RedMagic. It is priced at £109 in the UK but is currently out of stock. RedMagic is also selling a bundle that includes the controller and a RedMagic Gamepad 3 Cooler (wired cooler version) for $158.90/€158.90/£133.90.
