Last October, GameSir released the Tarantula Pro wireless controller with a pretty cool trick. The controller has a built-in motor that allows users to flip the ABXY buttons from Xbox to Nintendo layout and vice versa by pressing a combination of buttons.
The controller has been available to buy in a single color option since launch, but GameSir has now announced a special edition with a different paint job. The GameSir Tarantula Pro is originally available to buy in black, but the special MenaRD edition has a green paint job.
The special edition Tarantula Pro is the result of a collaboration between GameSir and Saul Leonardo "MenaRD" Mena II. The latter is a Dominican who is the current EVO 2025 champion for Street Fighter 6. MenaRD, as he is popularly known, is also GameSir's global brand ambassador.
The Tarantula Pro MenaRD edition has a dark green hue that fades to almost black at the handles. The left handle has a black lightning logo, while the right handle has Mena's signature etched on it. There's a geometric pattern on the faceplate, and the markings on the ABXY action buttons have a Chinese calligraphy-like font.
GameSir has not announced when the special edition of the Tarantula Pro controller will be available or its price. The standard version cost $69.99 at launch, with a special charging edition that shipped with a charging dock available for an additional $10. The version with a charging dock is currently available for purchase on Amazon for $69.99.
