HP is refreshing its Omen gaming desktop lineup with three SKUs — the Omen 35L, Omen 35L Stealth Edition, and the Omen Max 45L.
These desktops feature the latest AMD Zen 5 CPUs together with Nvidia Blackwell RTX 50 GPU options.
HP Omen 35L and Omen 35L Stealth Edition
The Omen 35L and the Omen 35L Stealth Edition gaming desktops are largerly the same save for minor differences in aesthetics and configuration options. Both offer easy upgrades with toolless access.
Unlike the Omen 35L that comes with full aRGB control, the Omen 35L Stealth Edition is an all-black design without any RGB flair. HP said that the Omen 35L Stealth Edition complements its partnership with Riot Games, powering League of Legends and Valorant Champions Tour eSports events.
Both desktops offer the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D as the starting point, but buyers can configure these systems with a slew of Zen 5 CPUs as well including the Ryzen 5 9600X all the way up to the Ryzen 9 9950X3D on an AMD B850 chipset.
The Omen 35L Stealth Edition also offers a couple of Intel 14th gen CPU options including the Core i5-14400F and the Core i7-14700F on an Intel Z790H chipset.
For the GPU, the Omen 35L and Omen 35L Stealth Edition begin with the modest Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 and top out with the RTX 5090. Correspondingly, the PSU ranges from a 500 W 80 Plus Bronze-certified unit to a 1200 W Cybernetics Gold ATX 3.1 fully modular one.
Buyers can also configure the Omen 35L Stealth Edition with up to 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) of DDR5-5600 memory and up to a 2 TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD, while the regular Omen 35L can be fitted with up to 128 GB (4 x 32 GB) of DDR5-5200 Kingston Fury RAM.
On the connectivity front, AMD variants of both desktops offer a total of 3x USB 10 Gbps Type-C, 4x USB 5 Gbps Type-A, 4x USB 2.0 Type-A, and 2 USB 5 Gbps Type-A ports.
Networking needs are handled by either a MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E RZ616 with Bluetooth 5.3 or a MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 MT7925 WLAN card (or an Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200) with Bluetooth 5.4. A Realtek RTL8125 2.5 GbE NIC offers wired LAN capabilities.
The HP Omen 35L and Omen 35L Stealth Edition gaming desktops are expected to be available in October on HP.com starting from $1,499.99.
HP Omen Max 45L
HP's flagship gaming desktop offering this year is the Omen Max 45L. Unlike the Omen 35L series, the Omen Max 45L offers an all-Zen 5 CPU choice starting from the Ryzen 7 9700X and topping out with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D on an AMD B850 chipset.
The Omen Max 45L's motherboard allows for overclocking the CPU and memory from the BIOS as well as the Omen Gaming Hub.
A stand-out feature of the Omen Max 45L is its industry-first patented Omen Cryo Chamber cooling that pulls in fresh, cool air from the outside into the chassis to cool the CPU. According to HP, this results in a further 7.5 °C reduction in full-load temperatures for better sustained performance.
While the Omen 35L offers a 240 mm AiO cooler together with 2x 140 mm front fans and an Omen 120 mm aRGB rear fan, the Omen Max 45L features a 360 mm LCD AiO along with 3x Omen 120 mm front aRGB fans and an Omen 120 mm non-RGB rear fan.
Buyers can configure the Omen Max 45L with a choice of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs starting from the RTX 5070 to the RTX 5090.
Rest of the specifications including port selection and networking are identical to the Omen 35L series.
The HP Omen Max 45L gaming desktop is expected to be available in December. Pricing information is not yet available.
