HyperX launches new Clutch Talon controller, Cloud Stinger 3 headsets

HP’s gaming sub-brand HyperX has expanded its gaming accessory portfolio with a new controller and a new budget headset lineup. The Clutch Talon controller is officially licensed by Xbox, and the Cloud Stinger 3 gaming headset line improves on its predecessors with wireless functionality. Furthermore, the HyperX NGENUITY software has also been improved.
HyperX Clutch Talon controller
With the shape of a regular Xbox Series controller, the Clutch Talon comes with Hall effect joysticks and triggers – with locks. While the industry is moving towards TMR, the HyperX offering still improves on traditional Xbox controllers with more accurate and durable inputs. It has both 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth connectivity, which makes it compatible with mobile games. HyperX claims the 1,000 mAh battery can last up to 30 hours, and it can be charged via the USB-C port, and there is a 3.5mm audio jack as well.
The Clutch Talon comes bundled with some swappable components like an alternate trigger pair, alternate stick pair, paddle pair, and two types of D-pads. There is also a mobile clip in the box for attaching your phone to the controller. There seems to be a swappable faceplate as well, but that isn’t included in the box. What is included is a carrying case.
HyperX Cloud Stinger 3 gaming headsets
The lineup includes both wired and wireless options for PS and Xbox/PC. The wireless Cloud Stinger 3 features 50mm drivers and has a wide frequency response range of 10 Hz to 50 kHz. It can last up to 80 hours and requires four hours to fully charge. The wired version also has 50mm drivers, but the product page states 30mm in the specifications section, which seems like a typo. Both feature a stainless-steel frame with leather and memory foam ear cushions. The electret condenser microphone can be flipped up to mute.
As for the NGENUITY software, HyperX has improved functionality by giving it a “clean, intuitive interface.” It allows for personalizing and customizing compatible peripherals in a more user-friendly manner. The HEAR360 engine is powering the customizations for audio peripherals.
HyperX Clutch Talon, Cloud Stinger 3 price and availability
The Clutch Talon controller is priced at $160 and will be available from the website and select retailers this summer. An exact date has not been shared. The Cloud Stinger 3 gaming headsets are available today in black and white colors, with the wired variant priced at $50 and the wireless variant priced at $100.
