Earlier today, an Italian retailer listed MSI's next gaming handheld for €1,599 with an Arc G3 Extreme processor. The first Panther Lake handheld, the Claw 8 EX AI+ will likely be sold alongside the Claw A8 (curr. $1,299 on Amazon) rather than replacing both it and the Claw 8 AI+ simultaneously.
Additionally, the same chipset has turned up on Passmark before its official release. For reference, Intel is expected to announce the Arc G3 as a cheaper alternative to the Arc G3 Extreme, just as AMD did in 2025 with the Ryzen Z2 and Ryzen Z2 Extreme.
Based on the display and RAM specifications mentioned in the screenshow below, the device being benchmarked is the Claw 8 EX AI+ rather than another handheld. Moreover, Passmark outlines that the Arc G3 Extreme features the Arc B390, a 12-core iGPU with Xe3 cores that Intel currently restricts to its Core Ultra X 300 series processors.
Also, the listing reports that the Arc G3 Extreme contains a 14-core CPU with 18 MB L2 and 12 MB L3 caches. The Arc G3 Extreme consists of 2 Performance cores and 12 Efficient cores without Hyper-threading support. Ultimately, we would not recommend passing performance judgements on the basis of one benchmark. Thus, claims of the Arc G3 Extreme surpassing the Ryzen Z2 Extreme and other handheld APUs by wide margins are too early to call at this point. MSI is expected to present the Claw 8 EX AI+ in June during Computex 2026.
