Anbernic RG Rotate: New official video reveals specs and gaming capabilities for new retro handheld

Anbernic has finally shared more details about its upcoming RG Rotate release. For context, the company has published one teaser video per week since April 13. Initially, these videos were light on actual information about the device. Instead, they focused on the RG Rotate's features, including its usage as an MP3 player.
Now, Anbernic has confirmed that the RG Rotate will ship with a 720 x 720-pixel display. In short, this resolution matches other 1:1 aspect ratio handhelds like the Anbernic RG Cube or Powkiddy RGB30 (curr. $109 on Amazon). However, the RG Rotate contains a 3.5-inch panel, which is 0.45-inches smaller than even the compact RG CubeXX.

Additionally, Anbernic has included a Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi 5-capable modem for pairing controllers and game streaming purposes. The company adds that the RG Rotate should be capable of emulating up to PlayStation 2 (PS2) and Nintendo Wii games, too. Unfortunately, the exact chipset that underpins the device remains unknown for the time being.
It is worth noting that systems like the PS2 and the Wii were designed with 4:3 or 16:9 TVs in mind. In other words, the RG Rotate will emulate these systems with large black bars or with squished-looking visuals. Either way, Anbernic has still not indicated when its latest handheld will be available to order at this stage.
