High-end Xiaomi tablet detailed in new leak ahead of launch

The Xiaomi Redmi K Pad 2 is scheduled to launch on April 21 in China. It will be a high-end tablet with a compact form factor. The company has already teased several key features of the device. A prominent tipster has now provided detailed specifications.
Writing on the Chinese social media site Weibo, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Redmi K Pad 2 will feature an 8.8-inch LCD panel with a 3K resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. For comparison, the upcoming Oppo Pad Mini also features an 8.8-inch screen but with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The tablet has been confirmed to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and a 9,100mAh battery.
According to the tipster, the Redmi K Pad 2 will support 67W fast charging. The tipster also suggests a 15,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system and dual X-axis haptic motors. Notably, the tablet will feature a Bose-tuned dual speaker setup. The leak also indicates a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The tablet has been confirmed to launch in three color options: Electric Purple, Space Silver, and Deep Black. Apart from the Redmi K Pad 2, the company has also confirmed a more affordable Redmi Pad 2 SE.
