Xiaomi’s new vacuum cleaner takes aim at Dyson with 280 AirWatt and 90-minute runtime

The Xiaomi Vacuum Cleaner G30 Max is now also available in more countries, including the US and Germany. It is priced at 400 euros or 324 dollars, which makes it a relatively expensive handheld vacuum cleaner. In terms of appearance, and especially because of the visible cyclones, the model somewhat resembles comparable alternatives from Dyson. A multi-stage filtration system is installed. According to Xiaomi, it captures 99.98 percent of fine dust, which is exactly what a vacuum cleaner is supposed to remove rather than blow back into the air.
Xiaomi specifies a suction power of up to 280 AirWatt, a unit commonly used to describe vacuum cleaner performance, as well as 25,000 Pa. The vacuum cleaner can be used without a power cord, and Xiaomi claims a runtime of up to 90 minutes. This figure applies to energy-saving mode in combination with the 2-in-1 crevice brush. When the electric floor brush is used, runtime drops to a maximum of 70 minutes.
Several cleaning modes are available, although users do not necessarily need to adjust the suction power manually, since an automatic mode is included. In this mode, a dust sensor regulates suction power automatically, while the level of dirt is also shown by color. The model also features illumination on the electric floor brush to make dust more visible. In addition, a special brush can be used to remove pet hair from animals such as dogs.
