Xiaomi launches new quieter smart water heater with HyperConnect

The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 Silent Constant Temperature (16L) is now available to pre-order in China. This new version of the smart home product is said to operate relatively quietly, generating as little as 32 dB(A) of noise when running.
Xiaomi’s new version of the Smart Gas Water Heater 2 is said to deliver constant water temperatures. This is achieved using a combination of a built-in temperature sensor and an algorithm to intelligently adjust the temperature in real-time to reduce fluctuations. The company also claims that the model’s TSI can boost the water flow rate by up to 246%, and that the appliance delivers a 99.9% water sterilization rate.
The Smart Gas Water Heater 2 supports Xiaomi HyperConnect, with remote controls available via the brand’s app. Here, users can select the temperature and mode of the water heater. Alternatively, you can adjust the device’s settings using Xiao AI voice commands. Plus, it can be linked to other smart home devices, like a smart lock. For example, the product could automatically start pre-heating water when the lock detects that you have arrived home. This Level 2 energy efficiency-rated model has a white casing and measures 520 x 360 x 172 mm (~20.5 x 14.2 x 6.8 inches)
In China, you can currently pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Gas Water Heater 2 Silent Constant Temperature (16L) for CNY 1,899 (~$279); for context, it is set to retail for CNY 2,299 (~$337). It is unlikely that this smart home product will arrive in European countries in the near future, as the company has yet to release this kind of appliance here.
