Xiaomi reveals new flagship smart air conditioner with superior performance

Xiaomi has launched the new Mijia Air Conditioner Powerful Air Pro 1.5 HP (Super Level 1 Energy Efficiency) in China. This new flagship model is said to offer “superior cooling and heating performance” (machine translated) compared to its predecessor.

The Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Powerful Air Pro can rapidly cool or heat a room, with the company suggesting users can start to feel the benefit in as little as 161 seconds. This model has a 118 mm (~4.65 inch) long fan blade, with inner and outer air deflectors for an increased outlet area. The air flow rate is listed as 1,000 m³/h (35,300 ft³/h) and, thanks in part to Xiaomi’s energy-saving algorithm, this model has an annual performance factor (APF) of 6.30.

Alongside the energy saving algorithm, for automatic setting adjustments to reduce energy consumption, the Mijia Air Conditioner Powerful Air Pro has other smart features. These include intelligent diagnosis of over 120 issues, such as blockages, and self-cleaning functionality. It supports HyperOS Connect, allowing it to integrate with Xiaomi’s wider smart home ecosystem. Plus, it can be remotely controlled via the brand’s app or with voice commands.

In China, the Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Powerful Air Pro 1.5 HP (Super Level 1 Energy Efficiency) will retail for CNY 4,899 (~$718). The company already sells a couple of smart air conditioners in Europe, like the Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco 3.5 kW (curr. €629 at Xiaomi Store ES). Whether or not this newer model will also be released in European countries remains to be seen.
