Cheaper Xiaomi robot vacuum with roller mop launches

The Xiaomi Mi Home Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 has arrived in China. It has been revealed shortly after the Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 Pro appeared in this country. 

Xiaomi’s Mi Home Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 offers several upgrades over the Robot Vacuum and Mop 5. These include a higher level of suction power, delivering up to 28,000 Pa rather than 23,000 Pa. Plus, the rotating mop heads have been replaced with a roller mopping system, which should be more effective. The rotating mop is continuously supplied with fresh water, with an internal scraper to collect dirt.

The Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 has a main brush and two extending brush arms to reach into the corners of the room. It has a slim body, measuring 90 mm tall, and onboard cameras can be used to detect 220 types of obstacles to avoid while cleaning. This robot can also climb over steps or thresholds measuring up to 40 mm tall in two stages (30 mm and 10 mm). It also comes with an intelligent docking station, which offers 80°C (176°F) hot water mop washing and has a removable cleaning tray. As usual, the robot can be remotely controlled via the Xiaomi app and linked to other smart home devices in the brand’s ecosystem.

In China, the Xiaomi Mi Home Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 can currently be ordered for CNY 2,699 (~$395). The company has yet to announce plans to launch this new model in other markets. For example, the Robot Vacuum and Mop 5 was released in Europe as the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 (curr. €599.99 at Mi Store DE), suggesting that this new model could be sold in this region as the Robot Vacuum 6.
