New Xiaomi compact capsule coffee machine launching globally

Xiaomi has revealed the new Mijia Capsule Coffee Machine, which will be released in markets worldwide. Recently listed on the brand’s global website, this appliance follows earlier coffee-making products from the brand like the Semi-automatic Espresso Machine (curr. €99.99 at Mi Store DE).
The Xiaomi Mijia Capsule Coffee Machine uses pre-packaged pods to quickly make a hot drink. According to the product listing, the device can warm up in as little as 25 seconds, with the coffee generated after one touch. The 19 Bar ULKA pump is said to deliver a “stable extraction” and a rich crema, while its NTC temperature sensors offer precise controls. Plus, the machine can run relatively quietly, generating 55 dB(A) operating noise.
Users of the Xiaomi Mijia Capsule Coffee Machine can set two cup sizes; by default, a small cup is 40 ml and a large cup is 110 ml. To alter the cup size, you can hold the dedicated button for 3 seconds, tapping a second time when you have reached your desired drink size. The machine comes with a magnetic capsule holder with space for up to 20 pods, which can attach to the side of the device or your fridge. It has a 650 ml water tank, with Xiaomi recommending that users fill this with purified water. The device has a gray finish and measures 33.2 x 9.0 x 21.2 cm (~13.07 x 3.54 x 8.35 inches).
It remains to be seen when the Xiaomi Mijia Capsule Coffee Machine will be released and at what price. Whether or not the device will be compatible with coffee pods from manufacturers other than Xiaomi is also unclear.
