Xiaomi launches new smart air fryer with sous vide feature

The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Air Fryer Pro Steam & Roast Version 6.5L is now crowdfunding in China. This multi-functional kitchen appliance is said to offer “the perfect combination of steaming and frying” (machine translated).
The new Mijia Smart Air Fryer Pro offers a total of 11 cooking functions, including steaming, steam frying and sous vide. Water can be introduced to the air fryer via a 1.5L water tank, the capacity of which is said to be enough for up to seven dishes. Presumably, Xiaomi's advertised sous vide method uses the upper water tank rather than the lower air frying basket. The device's temperature can be set to between 30 and 230°C (~86 and 446°F), and, as with many air fryers, the 360° circulation system helps to provide even crisping. Xiaomi also advertises a 130°C steaming function, which the company claims allows it to cook food faster than an electric steamer while preserving freshness and reducing energy consumption.
Xiaomi’s Mijia Smart Air Fryer Pro supports HyperOS Connect, and it can be remotely controlled via the brand’s app. Alternatively, you can control the air fryer with Xiao AI voice commands. Plus, there is an integrated dial which can be used to adjust the appliance’s settings. Another app-based feature is a range of over 100 recipes, 31 of which appear to have been designed specifically for this new air fryer.
In China, the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Air Fryer Pro Steam & Roast Version 6.5L is crowdfunding with a pledge price of CNY 559 (~$81). It is set to retail at the higher price of CNY 749 (~$109). Whether or when this product could be released in other markets like Europe, where Xiaomi already sells models like the Xiaomi Smart Air Fryer 6.5 L (curr. €89.99 at Xiaomi DE), is unclear.
