Xiaomi announces new smart feature for air conditioners

Xiaomi has announced a new feature for its smart air conditioners. Currently rolling out to users in China, this tool can be accessed via the Mi Home app, known globally as the Xiaomi Home app.
The new Xiaomi smart home function is called the Mi Home Air Conditioner Smart Health Check (machine translated). According to the company, the appliance has sensors which allow it to detect if the filter is dirty or clogged, with 98% accuracy. These problems could affect its performance. When one of these issues is discovered, users are notified of the matter via the brand’s app. Plus, you can manually check on the condition of the filter at any time.
As well as notifying the users, the Xiaomi Mi Home Air Conditioner Smart Health Check function can provide you with step-by-step cleaning instructions. Alternatively, in China, you can call a technician to come and clean your filter, an at-home service which is offered free of charge.
This smart feature is available on models, including the recently released Xiaomi Mi Home Air Conditioner Super Energy Saving Pro (Super Energy Efficiency Level 1) and the Mi Home Air Conditioner Ultra Energy-Saving Pro 1.5 HP in China. As a reminder, the company currently sells just two smart air conditioners in Europe, one of which is the Xiaomi Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco 3.5 kW (curr. €699 at Xiaomi Store ES). This offers a similar smart filter cleaning reminder.
