Tapo appears to be working on a new presence sensor dimmer switch. This smart lighting accessory is listed as a Matter compatible device with a built-in ambient light sensor.

A new Tapo smart light switch with an integrated sensor appears to be on the way. This new smart home accessory from the TP-Link sub-brand was recently spotted in the database of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), the organization responsible for managing protocols like Matter and Zigbee.

The CSA listing names the device as the Tapo Presence sensor dimmer switch, or the Tapo Smart Presence Sensor Single-pole Dimmer Switch. According to the product page, this accessory has a built-in ambient light sensor, which seems to be used to detect a human presence. It could also be used to automatically adjust the brightness of connected smart lights. Another noted feature is energy usage monitoring, which is expected to be available via the brand’s app.

Also listed on the Tapo Presence sensor dimmer switch’s CSA page is support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Plus, Matter compatibility should allow the device to integrate with a wide range of smart home ecosystems. On top of this, the listed Product ID suggests that this model could be known as the Tapo S207.

TP-Link has yet to officially announce the new Tapo Presence sensor dimmer switch, with its release date remaining unknown. It will join older models like the Tapo S505D Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch, Dimmer, Matter (2-Pack curr. $25.99 at Amazon).
