Dreame launches new powerful robot vacuum with Matter support

Dreame has launched the L50s Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum in Europe. It arrives as a cheaper alternative to the older L50 Pro Ultra, with a smaller battery and single rather than dual lasers for obstacle avoidance. However, there are also some performance upgrades, including its peak suction power.
The Dreame L50s Pro Ultra is said to deliver up to 30,000 Pa suction power, with two anti-tangle roller brushes to pick up hair and other dirt and debris. For context, the L50 Pro Ultra topped out at 19,500 Pa suction. At the rear are dual rotating mop heads, which can extend to reach along the edges of your room. Another feature of the robot is the EasyLeap system, allowing it to climb over thresholds and other obstacles measuring up to 4 cm (~1.57 inches) tall in total, though it is worth noting that these are tackled in two stages: 2.2 cm (~0.87 inches) and 1.8 cm (~0.71 inches).
Dreame’s L50s Pro Ultra comes with an intelligent docking station, automatically emptying the robot’s dustbin and replenishing the water supply for up to 100 days of hands-free cleaning. The dock also features the brand’s ThermoHub self-cleaning mop system, washing the fabric with 100°C (212°F) hot water to keep it hygienic for the next job. This model uses LDS to map your home and can detect over 200 types of obstacles to avoid. As usual, users can remotely control the robot vacuum via the Dreame app, or with Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant voice commands. On top of this, support for the Matter smart home protocols allows the product to work with many third-party devices.
You can now buy the Dreame L50s Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum cleaner in European countries like the Netherlands, Spain and Germany. It is available at the brand’s online store and at Amazon, with customers able to choose between black and white versions. Plus, in Germany, it is currently reduced to €649. Whether or when this model could reach North America remains to be seen.
