Xiaomi reveals new smart air conditioner with ultra-fast cooling

Xiaomi has launched the Mi Home Central Air Conditioner with Powerful Duct Unit in China. Currently available to pre-order, this model is described as “super energy efficient”, with a Level 1 energy efficiency rating in China.
The new Xiaomi Mi Home Central Air Conditioner is listed with an annual performance factor (APF) of 4.90. The 3HP version of this product is said to deliver an airflow rate of 1,560 m³/h (~55,100 ft³/h). Also noted on the product listing are “ultra-fast” heating and cooling; the appliance can start heating a space in around 60 seconds, or cooling a space in around 20 seconds.
Xiaomi’s new smart air conditioner can be connected to many of the brand’s other products for intelligent controls. Users can remotely manage the appliance through the Xiaomi app or with its Xiao AI voice assistant. Plus, there are optional add-ons like a fresh air module, an MIFD filter and a formaldehyde filter. On top of this, it can be used with the Xiaomi Mi Home Intelligent Wind Control Panel, allowing the device to intelligently direct wind towards or away from people who have been detected in the room thanks to integrated sensors. The internal unit has a white finish, measuring 1,250 mm (~49.2 inches) long and 198 mm (~7.8 inches) tall.
In China, the Xiaomi Mi Home Central Air Conditioner with Powerful Duct Unit starts from CNY 8,199 (~$1,179) for the 3HP version. The company has yet to indicate whether or not this model could be released in other markets like Europe.
