All at once: Siri could get a major update with iOS 27

According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple is working on a new Siri function that would allow multiple commands to be carried out in sequence within a single voice request. That means users would no longer be limited to giving Siri individual commands, but could instead trigger more complex tasks – such as scheduling an appointment, checking the weather and then sending a message straight afterwards.
That would be an important update for Siri. When it comes to chained tasks, follow-up requests or natural language, Apple’s voice assistant is still considered comparatively limited next to Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa (Amazon Echo Dot currently costs around $45 on Amazon). The new feature is said to be part of a major Siri update expected for iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27, aimed at addressing exactly those shortcomings. This will likely also involve deeper integration with Apple’s system functions.
Automations by voice command
As Bloomberg reports, the Shortcuts app is also set to receive a major upgrade. Instead of laboriously piecing together automations by hand, users may in the future be able to create them using natural language. An AI-powered generator is reportedly being discussed that could automatically create suitable workflows from a simple description. That would make Shortcuts significantly more accessible – especially for users who have not made much use of the app so far.
No official announcement yet
Nothing has been officially announced so far. It also remains unclear whether some of the long-awaited Siri improvements might still arrive later in iOS 26. At the moment, however, it seems more likely that Apple will postpone the larger Siri reboot to iOS 27.
