Nothing has removed the CMF Watch app from the iPhone App Store and the Google Play Store. The app, which received rather mixed reviews from users, is being replaced by the Nothing X app, which is already used for products such as the Nothing Headphone (1).

The CMF Watch 3 Pro ($90 on Amazon) and older smartwatches from Nothing subsidiary brand CMF were previously connected to an Apple iPhone or a Android smartphone via the CMF Watch app. This is now changing, because as Nothing confirmed in a blog post, this app was removed from the App Store and the Google Play Store on April 3rd.

From July 19th, 2026, all versions of the CMF Watch can instead be paired with and managed via the Nothing X app. The Nothing X app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and from the Google Play Store. Users can transfer the most important data, including completed workouts, fitness goals, activity ratings, sleep tracking, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation and stress levels from the CMF Watch app to the Nothing X app.

However, data such as weight, height, user-configured watch faces and cycle tracking data will be lost during this migration. Once this data has been migrated, the CMF Watch app account is deactivated and the app can then be deleted from the smartphone. To transfer the data, the menu item "Data Migration" must be selected in the Nothing X app while the CMF Watch is connected to the smartphone. While the loss of data is annoying, the CMF Watch app was rated much lower by users with a rating of 3.2 out of a possible 5 stars, while the Nothing X app holds a rating of 4.4 stars, so the user experience should improve as a result of this switch.
