Garmin releases fresh update to mid-range smartwatches with fix for Tactical wearables

Garmin has been on a spree lately with issuing extensive new updates. Just this week, the company has released Beta Version 22.21 for the Fenix 8 series and Beta Version 17.16 across multiple models ranging from the Vivoactive 6 to the Forerunner 970. All packing dozens of changes, these updates represent the start of a new development cycle that will likely extend over the next six weeks or so.
Now, Garmin has returned to the Instinct 3 series with a new beta update. To recap, the company transitioned these smartwatches to v14.xx development less than a month ago. Thus, Beta Version 14.08 will likely be replaced by other v14.xx beta updates before Garmin transitions development to its stable software channel.
In a forum post, the company clarifies that Beta Version 14.08 introduces updated translations for all eligible smartwatches. Additionally, the new update fixes an issue that prevented Tactical versions of the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Solar and Crossover (curr. $499 on Amazon) from receiving data from laser range finders. So far, Garmin plans to bundle the following changes into a future v14.xx stable update:
All Instinct 3/Instinct E:
- Added Mobility app.
- Added Recovery Time glance and Morning Report card.
- Added Stocks glance.
- Added support for Backup and Restore.
- Fixed possible crash when using Interval Workouts.
- Fixed potential issue when attempting to send inReach message to multiple contacts.
- Updated translations.
Solar/AMOLED/Crossover Only:
- Added support for Workout Execution Score.
- Updates your training guidance with consideration to recent dives.
Crossover Only:
- Added CIQ support for controlling analog hands.
