Multiple Garmin smartwatches get new LiveTrack feature in beta update

Garmin has released another beta update, version 22.23, for the Fenix 8 AMOLED, Fenix 8 Solar, Enduro 3, Fenix E, Tactix 8 AMOLED and Tactix 8 Solar smartwatches. This 22.xx testing cycle began earlier in April 2026 with the beta version 22.21 release.
In a post in the Garmin Forum, the company notes that the new beta version 22.23 update brings support for the Approach CT1 club sensors, which can be used to track your shots when golfing. There is a new feature for LiveTrack, a Garmin Connect App function which lets you share your location in real-time with friends and family. Users can now set LiveTrack to be automatically enabled for selected activity types.
With beta version 22.23, Garmin also states that it has improved the responsiveness of the Fenix 8 and related smartwatches when using the timer tool. This release fixes a range of bugs related to Garmin Coach workouts, multisports workouts and rock climbing or bouldering activities. Plus, a problem which could lead to missing turn arrows for course navigation has been resolved. You can find the complete change log for this release in a screenshot below.
Beta version 22.23 is available for users via ‘Check for Updates’; to install the release, go to Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Updates. As is typical for beta updates, the ECG and Dive features are disabled for the relevant wearables. It is also worth noting that this beta update is not available for testers with a Fenix 8 Pro smartwatch (51mm AMOLED Carbon Gray curr. $1,199.99 at Amazon).
