Garmin releases new ultra-premium smartwatch with cellular and satellite connectivity

Recently, there have been suggestions that Garmin is preparing to release at least three new wearables this year. Of these three, the Cirqa Smart Band was expected to launch the soonest. While Garmin has now introduced a new wearable, it is not the Cirqa Smart Band.
Instead, Garmin has updated its D2 Mach series with the release of the D2 Mach 2 Pro. Described as the 'ultimate aviator smartwatch', the D2 Mach 2 Pro arrives less than six months after Garmin unveiled the D2 Mach 2. To that end, the D2 Mach 2 Pro supports satellite and cellular connectivity just like the Fenix 8 Pro and Quatix 8 Pro before it (curr. $1,299 on Amazon).
Additionally, Garmin includes a 1.4-inch AMOLED display and a battery it claims will last up to 24 days in smartwatch mode. The D2 Mach 2 Pro also supports PlaneSync, LiveTrack location sharing and SOS capabilities. Moreover, the smartwatch brings in the other features found on the Fenix 8 Pro series, like 24/7 health monitoring and over 100 pre-installed activities.
Garmin only sells its new smartwatch with a 51 mm case size, though. Also, the D2 Mach 2 Pro is available only in a Carbon Grey DLC Titanium body with a Chestnut leather band. The D2 Mach 2 Pro is available to order globally, with pricing set at $1,549 in the US.
