Garmin is now offering a new feature across many of its recent smartwatches. Available through the Garmin Connect app, the added functionality is aimed at those who like to post workout results on social media.

Garmin has introduced various new features to multiple devices in recent months. For instance, the company announced its latest Feature Update in late February for over a dozen smartwatches, including the recent Quatix 8 Pro (curr. $1,299 on Amazon). Then earlier this week, the company published major update packages for currently supported Fenix, Forerunner and Venu 4 families.

Also, Garmin has introduced a fresh feature alongside these updates. Specifically, the company has updated its Connect app with more workout sharing options. As the video below shows, one can now add transparent overlays to social media posts.

Ultimately, Garmin intends this new functionality to work with vertical content like Reels or Stories. To that end, the company has included 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 formats rather than 16:9 or 4:3 alternatives. These transparent overlays can be resized in your social media app of choice though.

Alternatively, Garmin allows you to save the overlay for future use or copy it to your clipboard. Regardless of how you implement it, each overlay will show your average heart rate, distance covered and your average pace. Garmin includes the option of showing or hiding your route map, too.
