Garmin has just released a new update for its current high-end smartwatches, including the Fenix 8 and Fenix 8 Pro (curr. $1,299 on Amazon). At the same time, the company has also given the Quatix 8 the Pro treatment with the release of the Quatix 8 Pro in 47 mm and 51 mm sizes.
While based on the Fenix 8 Pro, Garmin has elected against offering the Quatix 8 Pro with expensive microLED display technology. Instead, the Quatix 8 Pro comes exclusively with AMOLED displays, with a 1.4-inch and 454 x 454-pixel panel included regardless of whether you opt for the 47 mm or 51 mm variant. However, Garmin has decided to offer its new smartwatch with or without its Voice Control Bundle for compatibility with chartplotter hardware.
Moreover, the Quatix 8 Pro supports satellite and cellular connectivity with up to 16 days of battery life and a built-in LED flashlight. Also, Garmin has included multiple marine-focused software features like regatta timer, tack assist and Fusion audio system support via the Fusion-Link audio app. The Quatix 8 Pro starts at $1,299.99 and rises to $1,359.98 when optioning the Voice Control Bundle.
