The Garmin beta version 16.14 update is now available for users of three of the brand’s smartwatches. While the release notes suggest that it brings several features and improvements to these wearables, users of the Venu X1, Venu 4 and vivoactive 6 actually only gain one upgrade with this free release.

Garmin has issued new beta updates for the Venu X1, Venu 4 and vivoactive 6 smartwatches. These beta version 16.14 releases arrive a few weeks after the beta version 16.11 firmware, which added a series of glances to these wearables.

While the change log for the Garmin beta version 16.14 updates looks impressive, there is, in fact, only one minor change. This is the upgrade for Garmin Connect Mobile (GCM) Translations to version 3.40. Unfortunately, the company does not explain how it has improved this functionality for smartwatch users.

The other changes listed in the release notes were included in the earlier beta version 16.11 release. As a reminder, one of these was a new weight tracking glance, and another was a glance dedicated to tracking battery life and performance. A third glance was also pushed to users in this older update, making it easier to track your favourite sports teams.

Garmin beta version 16.14 is now available to download for beta testers of the Venu X1, Venu 4 and vivoactive 6 (from curr. $249.99 at Amazon) smartwatches. You can install the update by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. It remains to be seen when a stable version of this firmware could be released for all users.
