A new beta update has arrived for the Garmin Instinct 3, Instinct E and Instinct Crossover smartwatches. Beta version 13.14 has landed just a few days after the company released its last update, beta version 13.12. This earlier firmware added a new Treadmill Walk activity and the ability to add Pack Weight to a Floor Climb activity for some users.
Beta version 13.14 is another relatively minor update for these Garmin smartwatches. For the Instinct 3, Instinct E and Instinct Crossover wearables, the company has resolved an issue linked to the new Treadmill Walk activity. Here, the option to ‘Calibrate & Save’ was missing in some cases. Garmin has also tackled a workout animation related problem experienced by Instinct Crossover smartwatches.
As a reminder, since the last stable version 12.23 update, Garmin has brought new Trucking features to users of the Instinct 3 and related smartwatches, as well as the ability to save distance to an Indoor Row activity. There are also new customization options for the Morning Report and a Smart Wake alarm setting. It is unclear when a stable version of the new 13.xx software will become available for all users.
In the meantime, beta version 13.14 is being rolled out in phases over the air (OTA) to users of the Instinct 3, Instinct E (45 mm curr. $299.99 at Amazon) and Instinct Crossover smartwatches. According to a post in the Garmin forum, the update has reached around 20% of users at the time of writing.
