CookieRun: Kingdom launches KPop Demon Hunters crossover

Devsisters has launched a limited-time KPop Demon Hunters collaboration in CookieRun: Kingdom, adding new playable Cookies, event story content, themed cosmetics, and multiple special game modes. The crossover is live now and is scheduled to run until May 6 at 4:59 p.m. ET / 1:59 p.m. PT.
The update centers on a new event episode called “HUNTR/X Show in the Cookie World!” set in the Dark Cacao Kingdom. In the story, the Saja Boys and invading demons threaten the kingdom, while players team up with HUNTR/X to protect the Cookie Honmoon.
Three HUNTR/X Cookies join the roster
The collaboration introduces three new playable characters based on the film’s main trio: Rumi Cookie, Mira Cookie, and Zoey Cookie. Devsisters describes Rumi as a fast close-range fighter, Mira as a front-line pressure-focused unit, and Zoey as a ranged attacker built around long-distance combat.
Outside the character additions, the event also brings a survival-style mode called Live! Survival on Stage and a boss raid named Gwi-Ma! Demon Distress, where players face the demon king Gwi-ma. There is also a smaller event activity, Derpy’s Catch the Jelly Worm, built around score chasing and reward collection.
Cosmetics, music, and Kingdom decorations are part of the event
Players also get collaboration-themed customization content, including costumes for HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys as well as four interactive Kingdom buildings that trigger character animations and play music. The overall update pushes the crossover beyond a simple banner release by tying story progression, combat, mini-games, and decoration systems together in one limited-time package.
The collaboration pairs one of Devsisters’ biggest mobile games with Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, whose official synopsis follows Rumi, Mira, and Zoey as K-pop stars who secretly protect fans from supernatural threats. The film also won Best Animated Feature, while “Golden” won Best Original Song at the 98th Academy Awards.
According to Devsisters’ release, the broader CookieRun franchise has surpassed 300 million cumulative players worldwide and generated more than $1 billion in lifetime revenue. CookieRun: Kingdom remains available as a free download on iOS and Android.
For readers interested in where game visuals are heading behind the scenes, that conversation also stretches well beyond crossover events and content drops. Notebookcheck recently spoke to veteran artist Mark Linington, whose credits include Mass Effect, Halo, Far Cry, Overwatch 2, and Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, about Nvidia’s DLSS 5 push and the growing debate over AI-assisted rendering, creative control, and how much of a final image still belongs to the artists who built it.
