Slimmed down. Lenovo puts a new model on the market for the mid-range segment. The 7-inch tablet is in the same weight class as the Google Nexus 7 2013 or the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7. Readers will see in the following sections how well the test subject holds its own against each first-class tablet.

Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8 inch 850F
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8” 850F is designed for multimedia use and performs as expected from a mid-priced table. Its 8 inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels is able to provide users with enjoyable clear images. Although it may not compete with higher-end devices with better displays, the Yoga Tab 3's display is sufficient for videos and games for users who are not too particular with having flawless visuals. To further enhance the multimedia experience, Lenovo included Dolby Atmos dual speakers in this tablet, which provide above average sound quality and comes with an app which allows users to customize the audio to their liking. The Yoga Tab 3 is especially differs from its competitors in its design. It comes with a barrel on the left-hand side for easier handling, which also encompasses a 180° rotating camera and a kickstand. The rotating camera features a resolutions of 8 MP, but it lacks a flash. It is adjustable to mimic both the rear and front camera. The kickstand on the other hand is pretty handy, when there is a need to adjust the viewing angle in landscape mode, and it can also be hooked on the wall. Despite the added barrel, the Yoga Tab 3 is still decently light at only 0.472 kg. Other features include 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB internal storage (expandable up to 128 GB), and an extended 20-hour battery life.Specifications

Clearly, this is the kind of tablet for those who want don’t want to be burdened with a high learning curve, or just don’t want to spend a fortune. To that degree, the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8-inch does right by sporting a starting cost of $169.99 from the get-go, which is a bargain in the world of 8-inch tablets. If price clearly dictates your judgment, this is something that should be on your radar – just know that there are compromises in settling with it. However, if you’re able to spend just a little more, say $200, the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 would be a more attractive option.

As a media-consumption device, the Yoga Tab 3 stands above similarly priced 8-inch tablets, thanks mostly to its prodigious 15-hour-plus battery life. I like the Yoga Tab 3's kickstand, which is a feature I think every tablet should have. The Tab 3's front-facing speakers are key, too, even if the low-end audio is a little lacking.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 is a tablet that seems designed to showcase a hinge style. No, it's not a new concept, but the construction of the body and hinge doesn't half show it off in a good light. It's just a pity that much of the meat inside the 8-inch Yoga Tab 3 seems a little stale - weaker than its pricier predecessor. Note we didn't say rotten, though. It's no outright stinker, so long as you can accept screen quality and general performance limitations then the Tab 3 has its target audience. Display and performance certainly aren't its strong point.

The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8 is a decent choice if you don't want to be locked into Amazon's content ecosystem. It's also better than the Amazon Fire for watching video, thanks to its slightly higher screen resolution and unique design that makes it comfortable to hold in your hand or prop up on the nearest flat surface. But it's hard to ignore just what a good deal the new Fire tablet is; you can buy three for the price of a single Yoga Tab. And considering it offers comparable performance, the Amazon Fire remains our Editors' Choice for budget tablets. If you're willing to spend more, you're better off with the Asus ZenPad S.

As handy as the kickstand is, though, the Yoga Tab’s internal hardware makes it an entry-level tablet. The Qualcomm APQ8009 processor and Adreno 304 graphics provide an acceptable experience for day-to-day tasks, but if you plan to and heavy gaming or run processor / graphics intensive apps, you’ll probably wish you had gone for a more expensive, more powerful tablet.

Lenovo Tab4 8 inch 2017
The Lenovo Tab4 8 inch 2017 is one of the new affordable tablets announced at Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. It belongs to the Tab Series 4, a family of tablets that feature two mainstream devices and two premium media-focused devices. Running Android Nougat, stocked with adequate specs to chew through most apps and games, as well as a surprisingly premium design language makes the Tab 4 8 inch 2017 stand out. Designed primarily as a tablet for kids, the Tab4 range is strikingly good-looking. Coated with glass on both sides, it looks as if it can do just as well in the hands of just about anyone looking for a palm-friendly slate. Each is trimmed in plastic, featuring all of the necessary buttons to make operating the volume and powering on and off simple. The design is pretty sleek and makes the Tab 4 tablets look way more expensive than they actually are. It is a tablet focused on versatility, display quality and sound. Lenovo is offering additional kits with the Tab4, which are basically add-ons based on user requirement. Currently, there are two kits, sold separately, which make the tablets suitable for either kids or for office work. The Kid’s Pack includes more internet security with dedicated children’s account for safer web browsing along with a shock-resistant bumper, 3M stickers for scratch protection, and a blue-light filter. The Productivity Pack, on the other hand, allows one to transform the tablet into a 2-in-1 laptop with a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard and trackpad. For hardware specification, the Lenovo Tab4 8 inch 2017 is powered by Qualcomm’s lower range, Snapdragon 425 processor. Storage options include 16 GB and 32 GB. In addition, these tablets also feature 2 GB RAM along with a 8-inch (1280 × 800) IPS LCD display. The Android Nougat feature alone will see these devices being more competent than most at multitasking and saving battery with its enhanced Doze mode that analyzes battery usage patterns to improve its performance. The Nougat software has also been tweaked to have more advanced parental controls. The controls not only let parents manage what apps and content kids can access, they also have a nifty “on-times” and “down-times” scheduling tool. The tool lets the admin account decide what times certain apps or content can be accessed, which will be useful for any parent trying to limit the amount of Netflix their kids watch. There’s also a dedicated kids’ zone, that features curated “safe” content for children. Camera-wise, the Lenovo Tab4 8 inch 2017 comes fitted with a 2 MP front camera and a 5 MP rear camera. Common features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Android Nougat at the core. The Lenovo Tab4 8 inch 2017 is also available in Wi-Fi + LTE and Wi-Fi only models. It also allows for multiple user account setup. In terms of battery capacity, the Tab 4 8 inch has a 4850 mAh cell battery inside. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

The Lenovo Tab 4 tablets look great and thanks to competitive pricing it should be an absolute bargain. Despite being underpowered for teenagers and adult users, paired with the Kids pack the basic Tab 4s have the chops to be a great tablet for children under 10.

The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro features a large screen and costs less than $450. Creative minds can go wild thanks to its active stylus, gamers can look forward to a high frame rate, and movie fans will be delighted with the tablet's high-resolution display and four speakers. But is there a catch to its low price?

The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is a tablet that knows its audience. It’s not trying to be the most powerful device on the market, nor is it aiming to compete with high-end tablets like the iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy Tab S9. Instead, it carves out a comfortable niche as a versatile, mid-range tablet that offers a lot of value for its price. It offers a lot of bang for your buck, with a gorgeous display, solid performance, and impressive battery life. While it has some limitations—like average cameras and middling gaming performance—it excels in areas that matter most to its target audience: productivity, media consumption, and everyday use. At a starting price of $350, it’s a compelling option for anyone looking for a versatile, affordable tablet. It’s not perfect, but it’s a great example of how much value you can get in the mid-range segment. If you’re in the market for a tablet that can handle work, play, and everything in between, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is definitely worth considering.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible.
PowerVR SGX544: OpenGL ES 2.0 compatible with 4 pixel and 2 vertex shaders
Qualcomm Adreno 304: Integrated mid-range graphics card in the Snapdragon 210 SoCs that supports OpenGL ES 3.0 and features unified shaders.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Qualcomm Adreno 405: Integrated graphics card for ARM based SoCs. Depending on the used SoC the clock rate is around 500 MHz and features 48 unified shaders.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
ARM Mali-G615 MP6: Mid-range graphics chip for smartphones with 6 of the 6 possible cores. Based on the fourth generation of Valhall architecture. Offers variable rate shading.

This display format is in the mid-range for smartphones. It offers a compromise between good visibility, details and resolution on the screen, and you can still fit it into trouser pockets.
8.00:
Large smartphones and a few small tablets are available for this display size. Unlike most smartphones, you can see more on the screen, more details and use larger resolutions. Such formats are better for people with defective vision. However, such devices are no longer easy to fit in a pocket, and they are probably not quite light either.
